Going towards the small village of Foy-Notre-Dame just three miles from the river meuse, the German attack came to a halt.

At the Mahenne farm just outside Foy, three Panthers took up position dominating the junction of all the roads there. They where destroyed in allied air attacks on 25th december. Later British Sherman tanks coming from Sorinnes attacked them again, not aware the tanks had already been immobilized by the Typhoons and Lightenings.
